Below you will find instructions guiding you through the step by step process of setting up your Windows Media Encoder for broadcasting Live Audio Events with StreamWebTown.
1. Go to Start, Programs and in Windows Media folder choose Windows Media Encoder to launch the application: If you did not have installed, click here to download 32-bit Windows Media Encoder. If you have 64-bit Windows, click here.
2. From the new session wizard select 'Broadcast a live event' and click the 'OK' button.
3. Check the box next to 'Audio'. Then, click 'Next'.
4. Select "Push to a Windows Media Server' and click 'Next' again.
5. In the Server Name field enter 'streamwebtown.com'. Then, specify the desired name for Publishing Point and click 'Next'. NOTE: If you try to use a Publishing Point name that is already in use, the application will not work. You will need to specify a different name.
6. Select multiple bit rate from the drop menu and then check the rate or rates that you want to stream at. Make sure not to select more than 80% of your internet connections upload speed. Once you have selected your rates click 'Next'.
Note: If your target users are using Mobile Devices, Please select lowest bit rate from Media Encoder, ex: select less than 30Kbps.
7. If you wish to create an archive file for your broadcast click the box next to 'Archive a copy of the broadcast to file', specify the location you want the file to be saved and click 'Next'.
8. If you wish to display some information regarding your broadcast, fill out the necessary information and click 'Next'.
9. Review your settings to make sure you have entered everything correctly and click 'Finish'.
10. A username and password window will pop up. For Username enter 'User' and for Password enter 'stream'.
11. Click 'Ok' if you see this pop-up window.
12. Finally, click Start Encoding at the top of the encoder window to start your live broadcast.
