Flash Streaming

How to Set Flash Live Streaming Trial Instructions

1.) Download the latest version of the Flash Media Encoder from the Adobe website. Alternative links:
2.) After installation, launch the Flash Media Encoder program. You will see this screen (screenshot), with a preview of the main video input device and a variety of options and settings.
  • Video Device: Lets you choose the input you wish to record. This could be from a camera attached to your computer, an external source connected to a video capture card, or software for screen capturing.
  • Video Format: The format into which your video will be encoded.
  • With the encoder, you can also adjust the output video size and bit rate, as well as the audio input and settings.

3.) After configuring your options, enter the URL into the corresponding section as shown below.

In the "Stream" box, enter what you want to name your stream (you will use this to access your stream from our website).

4.) Click "Connect" and, when prompted, enter:
  • Username: trial    Password: demostream
Now, all you have to do is press "Start" and your stream will go live.

5.) Click here to watch a preview of your stream and for an embed code to use on your website.
Windows Streaming

How to Set Windows Media Live Streaming Trial Instructions

1.) Download and install the Windows Media Encoder 9 Series.
Download 32 bit version or Download 64 bit version

2.) Upon launching the program, you should see a "New Session" window. Click on "Broadcast a Live Event,"

then select your desired video and audio input from the dropdown lists.


3.) After pressing "Next," you will see two options for "Broadcast Method." Select "Push to a Windows Media server" and continue.


4.) On the next screen, enter the following information.

Server name: free.streamwebtown.com
Under publishing, point, enter what you want to name your stream (this will appear in the URL you use to access it later). Then Click on "Next"


5.) Finally, adjust your encoding options (bit rate, output size, frame rate) and click "Finish."


6.) When prompted to log in, enter :
     Username: User
     Password: Stream123
Note: it is case sensitive and it might takes 2-3 minutes to authenticate.


7.) You should now see a preview video for your selected input device. If everything is working, click "Start Encoding" to begin your broadcast.


8. Click 'Ok' if you see this pop-up window.

Note: You can also choose to broadcast a video file you have saved on your computer if you don't have access to a live recording device.

To do this, select "Custom Session" at step 2, go to the "Sources" tab under Properties, and click "File" under "Source from." Select a file, then navigate to the "Output" tab, select "Push to server" and follow the instructions in step 4.
